MWC 2025: Oppo to release one new AI update every month, plans 100 million AI phones by this year

Oppo on Monday (March 3, 2025) stretched upon enhancing its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy focusing on AI productivity, creativity, and imaging at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. The Chinese smartphone company showcased new AI features, including AI Call Translator and AI VoiceScribe, and has said to release one new AI update every month.

Oppo also plans to bring gen AI features to around 100 million users by the end of 2025.

Oppo said that Google’s Gemini can soon take action across native Oppo apps, such as Notes, Calendar, and Clock. It would be coming to the Oppo’s Find N5, soon.

“These new capabilities will work alongside existing support for Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash on Oppo AI Phones to unlock unprecedented levels of performance and responsiveness,” it said.

The two companies are also planning to bring the Gemini 2.0 to Oppo smartphones soon.

Oppo is now implementing Private Computing Cloud (PCC) built with Confidential Computing from Google Cloud. Starting from AI Recording Summary, AI features including AI Search, AI Studio, AI Call Summary will be integrated with Oppo’s Private Computing Cloud this year.

AI Call Translator which can interpret calls in multiple languages in real-time, and AI VoiceScribe that offers multi-use voice summarisation across voice calls, online learning, and meetings, will be coming to Oppo devices via a future update.
