Apple launches new iPad Air with M3 Chip and Magic Keyboard

Apple on Tuesday (March 2, 2025) introduced its latest iPad Air, now powered by the M3 chip, promising significant performance improvements and enhanced AI capabilities. The new iPad Air, available in 11-inch and 13-inch models, is designed to deliver powerful performance while maintaining its lightweight portability. With support for Apple Intelligence, a redesigned Magic Keyboard, and advanced graphics architecture, the M3-powered iPad Air is nearly twice as fast as its predecessor with the M1 chip.

Apple claims that the M3 chip offers up to 3.5 times faster performance than older models with the A14 Bionic chip. This boost in speed benefits a wide range of users, from content creators working with high-resolution media to gamers playing graphically demanding titles. The new iPad Air also features improved AI processing, enabling more advanced machine learning tasks and supporting Apple Intelligence features seamlessly.

The new iPad Air retains the same starting price as previous models, with the 11-inch version priced at ₹59,900 and the 13-inch model at ₹79,900.

Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI-driven personal assistant system, is also a major highlight of the new iPad Air. Features such as the Clean Up tool in Photos allow users to easily remove unwanted objects from images, while Image Wand in the Notes app transforms rough sketches into polished illustrations. Additionally, Apple Intelligence integrates with Siri, making it more conversational and capable of understanding contextual requests. ChatGPT has also been embedded into Writing Tools and Siri, providing users with AI-generated content and assistance without requiring an external app.

With the introduction of the M3 chip, the iPad Air now features an 8-core CPU that is 35% faster than the M1 model, along with a 9-core GPU that enhances graphics performance by 40%. The addition of advanced rendering technologies, including dynamic caching, mesh shading, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, makes the device ideal for creative professionals and gamers. Apple states that these improvements result in up to four times faster rendering compared to the M1 model.
