Google’s new Deep Research tool could be coming to the free tier of Gemini. A new report by Android Authority has found that the latest beta of the Google app had coding that suggested that a “freemium” version of the Deep Research tool could be coming soon.
The tool was recently rolled out on the Gemini app for Android and iOS but just for Gemini Advanced subscribers.
Google has been slowly moving paid Gemini Advanced features to all users like Gemini’s file analysis capabilities and the conversational mode. However, the outlet said that the Deep Research tool could have rate limits like the file analysis feature so users can be lured in to get a subscription after trying it.
Gemini Advanced is available for $20 per month while being paired with other benefits from the Google One AI Premium plan.
Just weeks ago, Google rolled out a new feature for Gemini Advanced subscribers on the app that could recall and reference past chats to offer personalised help to users.
