Google co-founder Larry Page is reportedly starting a new firm called Dynatomics, focused on AI applications in product manufacturing. According to a report by The Information, Page is working with a small group of engineers and AI developers to create “highly optimised” designs for objects.
The outlet revealed that the team will be led by Chris Anderson, who previously served as the chief technology officer (CTO) at an electric airplane startup called Kittyhawk.
There are other AI startups in the same space like Orbital Materials which was founded last year by Jonathan Godwin, a former senior researcher at Google DeepMind. The startup is working on discovering materials ranging from batteries to carbon dioxide-capturing cells.
While still serving as an Alphabet board member, employee and controlling shareholder, Page stepped down from his executive role in the company along with Sergey Brin in 2019.
However, Brin came back from retirement to Google in 2023, post the release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. A week ago, an internal memo seen by The New York Times noted that Brin wrote that staff working on Gemini AI should work much longer than the standard 40-hour workweek and from office.
