MakeMyTrip launches part payment option for international flight bookings

MakeMyTrip on Wednesday (January 8, 2025) announced part payment option on international flight bookings that allows passengers to book a confirmed ticket by paying between 10 to 40% of the total fare upfront. The online booking portal said that the exact percentage will be determined by factors such as the airline, travel sector, and the advance purchase window.

According to MakeMyTrip, the remaining balance must be paid either before the travel date or within 45 days of booking, whichever comes first, without no additional cost.

The platform believes that this may address a common pain point for travellers, particularly larger families or groups, who may find it challenging to pay the entire ticket amount upfront when booking an international flight.

MakeMyTrip said this part payment option has seen adoption among solo travellers, pairs, and families for both long-haul and short-haul international flights, when the fare exceeds ₹1 lakh mark.
