xAI has released their standalone iOS app for the Grok chatbot, just for X users. Spotted first by Tech Crunch, the app is able to perform the same tasks as done by Grok via X, like rewriting, summarising and generating images from text prompts.
Users can also access real-time data and news on the app.
The AI firm’s account on X posted an advertisement for the app adding the link for iOS users to download it in the U.S.
There’s no update around when the app will be launched for Android users.
In December, xAI reportedly started testing the app in beta for a few selected countries.
While Grok was available to just X Premium subscribers, it has been free for all now with the chatbot appearing on the X interface prominently. There’s an ‘Explain this Post’ feature for tweets where users can click on the xAI icon on the top right to get a summary generated by Grok.
The Musk-owned AI firm has raised huge amounts of money recently. Earlier in June last year, there was a $6 billion round and a $6 billion funding round again in December.
